dscf1106-1There are only a few critical moments in your life when things become very clear. These are almost always preceded by an event that makes portions of your reality irrevocable. Life as you know it changes and you begin feeling nostalgia for a certain past(s) that you cannot access anymore. Of course, the other timelines of your life are hale and hearty. But, the very thing that you were contemplating the loss of, for a long time, comes to a grand grinding halt. This particular strand of your past resembles a mammoth ship that has now beached on the shoreline of time. You realize that there is no way to pull this one back to its halcyon days. However, a part of you is happy that it ended thus. That, there is no need anymore to pretend to be someone else; you don’t have to wake up, dress up, and show up as this weird person you did not like very much. Most people, I think, squander away their lives and embark on a downward-spiral because they hate having to do just this, day after day. They sit in office spaces that promise them a dream, but in reality makes their bodies bloated with greed for more light from the LED screens around them.

“There is no Vitamin D to be made from this light, People.”

You think you don’t have a choice, or you don’t know how to be who you are and who you want to be. Well, there is an easy solution to this apparently mind-numbing problem. It is to realize, not think, not know, not philosophize, but realize that there is no other way forward. Everything you are or ever have been was about this. It was all about getting up, dressing up, and showing up as you. And you can’t afford to screw you up. Not anymore.
